“Let’s travel using radio show podcasts”
Level: 6th Grade
Project template: Let’s travel – good for 10 - 12 years
old students
1. Summary: For this project this template can use it anyone with an Internet connection and some inexpensive
audio equipment can produce a podcast and make it available online using stories and memories,
broadcasting ICT and creative skills (imagining the future as well). We have
different uses for podcasting such as; something they
want to express: love for a certain TV show, knowledge about technology or just
personality and humour. Some use podcasting as a way to draw attention to their
other organizations.
2. First activity: Investigating and preparing
resources on travelling it can be done in teams focusing on themes such as;
knowing countries, cities or by choosing one country per group. For this it can
be included the city’s background, photos of places of your locality. You can
share it with others to in order to, know what really caught their attention during
your project.
3. Exchange: At the moment the documents were
shared examine it and respond to the work your partner school has sent. You may
find similarities and differences in the project, or relate their work to a
study of another aspect of their world regions such as climate or culture. As
an advise try to use surveys or interviews.
4. Share: At the moment you have finished that

shows, therefore you will be able have to more interaction with others such as;
online discussions.
5. Extension
activities: With

classmates about their favorite trips that they have done, you can combine the
audio interview with photos using the movie maker program.
As an
option you can investigate about different countries and interview a recent
traveler that can be your own classmates. Therefore the interview can be done

7. Space: Knowing the places where they are located, what are the origins of
those places, the weather, culture, etc.
8. Aims and Outcomes: This project invites students to
explore digital resources in order to share information with their peers. With
the help of podcasts that is typically an audio file
that one downloads and listens to. Where people, generally produce podcasts to
share ideas, presentations, or music. Therefore, by using podcasting, students
will be able to produce and create a radio show with the information that they
have gathered, about
travelers, trips, cities, countries, the weather and so on and so forth. Which
therefore mean that they immediately think about their city’s development,
architecture and building materials. So at the end the students share this
information with their peers’ school.

- The ‘Let’s travel” project engages students in the following cross-curricular dimensions:
- The students will be able to ask and give information appropriately accurately.
- The students will feel motivated expressing their ideas about their own context in relationship with the topic that is “Let’s travel”. Fostering partnership and group work.
- The students will be able to communicate themselves using digital resources, seeing the influences and changes on the communities and society.
- The students will develop communicative skills, measuring pronunciation, fluency and accuracy
ü Listening comprehension: Recognize and understand specific information given on context.
ü Speaking: Produce dialogues and presentations related to travelling.
ü Writing: Produce short paragraphs about experiences related to travelling.
11. Chilean Curriculum links: History and arts
The “Let’s
travel” project fits in well with key words of vocabulary related to travelling,
developing a coherent dialogue, describing and analyzing the relationships
between the characteristic features of periods and societies. This project also
blends in with key words related to visual arts relating it to their own
culture, traditions and experiences.
